Jip van den Toorn (1993) is a Cartoonist for de Volkskrant. Twice a week, she shares her views on society and politics, illustrating with a keen eye and reflective touch on societal matters through humor. Besides she illustrates for other Dutch and Belgian newspapers and magazines such as the VPRO Gids, Het Parool, and De Standaard, she is also the editor and writer of the television program Dit was het nieuws. In 2024, Jip participated in Wie is de Mol and she is the regular guest at Khalid & Sophie. Jip was part of the jury for the European Cartoon Awards (2023). 

Jip made illustrations which are part of Food for Thought exhibition in Het Scheepvaart Museum (2023).  She was a participant in De Slimste Mens (NPO 1, 2022). Her debut book Crisis, was released in November 2022 by the publishing house Podium. In 2018, she won the World Illustration Awards with Inappropriate Embroidered Cushions, and in 2019, she received the Fiep Westendorp Stimulerings Prijs. Last year, Jip became the first woman and youngest ever to win the Inktspot Prize, awarded for the best political drawing of the parliamentary year, with her piece titled: Environmentally Aware.
